Teatro Espejo from Sacramento, CA will be hosting its fifth annual One Act Festival dedicated to the development of new talent in all areas of performing arts. This year our performances include “Ruben,” a play about Ruben Salazar, the famous journalist of the LA Times who wrote about the stories of the oppressed. He was killed in 1971 during the Chicano Moratorium against the war in Vietnam. Also, “Dance Again: a Brief Choreopoem for the Brown Brothers of Orlando,” is a brief homage to the lives of Pulse Orlando. Finally, we are excited to present “manchild,” a solo performance by Ike Torres, invites us to a journey of laughter, sadness, and self awareness.
